BRIEF HISTORY
Jesus Good Shepherd School had a humble beginning. In 1965, in response to the clamor of parents to have their children educated in a Catholic School, the Pastorelle Sisters inaugurated the first Kindergarten and Grade One classes in Imus in two rooms in the Bishop's residence. The first regular school day was on July 7, 1965 when JGSS welcomed 132 boys and girls. Since then, a new grade had been added each year.
There was a need for more classrooms. The old garage of the Bishop's House had to be transformed into classrooms. The school population grew and the possibility to transfer to a more suitable place was considered. The dream was made possible when in 1969; the new school building was inaugurated in Palico Imus, Cavite. Over few years, from a secluded hall and garage. Jesus Good Shepherd grew into a progressive Catholic School for boys and girls. |
Today, the physical plant has grown at an amazing pace. Its curricular offerings constantly undergo modifications and updating. It has been the school's policy to prepare her pupils in facing the demands of the modern world.
Jesus Good Shepherd School has maintained her simplicity and friendliness. Her family spirit continues to bring each pupil the joy of growing not only in the intellect but above all in the image and likeness of Jesus Good Shepherd. |
